Terms of Use

Effective [Effective date]

Draft — needs legal review. This is a starting draft, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review it before launch. Bracketed items come from the site config and must be filled in.

These terms govern your use of Employment Library, operated by [Owner / legal entity name]. By using the site you agree to them.

Guides are information, not advice

Guides are general information to help you research careers. They aren’t career, legal, financial, immigration, medical or safety advice. Pay, training times and requirements are estimates. They change and vary by province, employer and person. Check current details with employers, regulators and official sources before making decisions. We don’t guarantee any outcome, job or income.

Job listings and sponsors

Listings and sponsored content come from employers, who are responsible for their accuracy and legality. We label them clearly and may remove any listing at our discretion. We aren’t a party to any hiring decision or employment relationship. Never pay an employer to apply for a job.

Employer obligations

If you post a listing, you confirm it’s a real, current opening, that the details are accurate, and that it follows applicable employment standards, pay-transparency and human rights laws. You won’t post discriminatory, misleading or illegal content.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before checkout and include or exclude tax as stated at checkout. If we can’t publish a paid listing, we refund it in full. [Refund policy for other cases to be finalized.]

Content and intellectual property

Guide text, design and branding belong to Employment Library or its licensors. You may share links and short quotes with attribution. Don’t republish whole guides without permission. Photos are used under the licences listed on Photo credits.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the site: no scraping that disrupts service, no attempts to break security, and no harmful or unlawful use.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the site is provided “as is”, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses from using it or relying on guides or listings. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Province of operation] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
